Perfect Moment Monday: Telluride and Lacrosse

Each week I participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by the blog WeeblesWobblog.com. According to Weebles, "Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect Moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between." And so, here is a Perfect Moment for this week.

lacrosse

One of my 13-year-old twins, Ryan, decided to sign up for lacrosse this year. I was surprised because this is the kid who a couple of years ago quit football because he didn't like it and felt he might get hurt.

Fast forward two years, add about a foot in height (he just passed me in height last week—barely—and I'm 5'9") and 30 pounds (to him, not me), and now this kid is ready to play.

Have you ever watched lacrosse? It's fast-paced, it's aggressive and he loves it!

For me, the thrill is watching him learn a new sport and something about himself. Luckily for Ryan, he joined a winning team that participated in three tournaments and won all three!

The other "perfect" part about the Telluride lacrosse tournament was just that: being in Telluride.

And, by some weird circumstances, I got to stay in the hotel room all by myself. Hubby was out of town for business, and even though my three sons and a friend came with us (and were going to stay in my hotel room), they all decided to stay elsewhere.

When the other twin, Bryce, came to ask if it was okay if he stayed with the team too, he said he was concerned I might be lonely. How very sweet...and truly funny. I relished the evening to myself.

When they won the tournament the next day and I drove home with four teenage boys in my car, I smiled and enjoyed another series of Perfect Moments!

Lacrosse - sweet!

I love your perfect moment Sheri! Lacrosse of course is one of my favorite sports and being Canada's National Sport - it is close to my heart. I am excited to see you got an extra few moments to yourself.

Namaste,
Karen

Perfect Moments multiply

There's so many perfect moments to comment on here.

It is perfect to watch a loved one come into his own the way Ryan is doing. I, too, thoroughly enjoyed watching him play -- and win! -- his Lacrosse games.

I do NOT enjoy, however, looking UP to my nephew now (kidding).

And time alone in a hotel? In Telluride?? Really, save some perfect moments for the rest of us ;-).

Kidding again. Perfect moments multiply when noticed, don't they?
