Perfect Moment Monday: Seeing Tonsils

Each week I participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by WeeblesWobblog.com. According to Weebles, "Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect Moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between." And so, here is a Perfect Moment for this week.

TonsilsOne of this week's Perfect Moments happened while I was in the pool swimming with one of my 13-year-old twins, Bryce. He is sometimes goofy (Boy + 13 years old = Goofy).

When Bryce asked me to come swimming with him, my first thought was, "I have too much to do." But since the boys' requests for my time have become nearly as rare as sushi, I figured I would put my work aside and spend some time in the pool. It's been incredibly HOT, so a dip would be refreshing, AND got to hang out with one of my kids.

We played what the kids call "Extreme Marco Polo." This is where one person is "it" and has his eyes closed while the other people in the pool sneak around trying to not get caught. It's not like the standard Marco Polo where the person who is "it" says, "Marco" and the other players say "Polo." This is EXTREME, in that the people being chased get to be completely silent.

Bryce was "it" and had his eyes closed and was searching for me.

I had my super powerful stealth protection fully engaged as I silently moved away from him.

Suddenly he opened his mouth wide and said, "I can see with my tonsils!" If you've every looked into Bryce's mouth, his tonsils are big enough for an eye or two. Just earlier that day we had been in to see the boys' doctor for physicals, and the doc had even commented on how big his tonsils are.

For some reason I found this extremely funny and burst out laughing, which also allowed Bryce to tag me.

But it was worth it. I was spending time with one of my kids, playing in a pool and laughing. I realized I had just experienced yet another Perfect Moment!

That's hilarious!

I would have busted a gut (and gotten tagged) too!

I love that Bryce.
