Crystals and Your Chakras: Sahasrara
By Rosemary Beam ~ 3/23/2010
The Seventh or Crown Chakra Sahasrara means “Thousand-fold.” It is located at the top of the head, otherwise known as the crown. Its color is violet or white. The part of the brain associated with the crown is the cerebral cortex. The element is thought and consciousness, and the animal reflected in the Chakra is the elephant/ox/bull. This is the Chakra that connects us to all that is—to our becoming. When the Sahasrara is open and healthy, we can connect to all of creation; we can become creation! This Chakra allows for expansion and spiritual growth. The Seed sound of Sahasrara is the sound of emptiness/nothingness; therefore, there is no sound.
The Crown/Seventh Chakra: Sahasrara
Balanced= Expanded consciousness, awakening.
Imbalance= Depression, alienation, confusion, boredom, apathy, inability to learn or comprehend, overly intellectual, heady, spacey.
Nutritional support= None, fasting.
Meditation= Contemplation.
Crystals and Stones= I have many favorites for this Chakra; however, I would say the most profound is the Phenacite. It opens you up and allows you to stay in that place/space of contemplation and deep opening as not many stones can. However, you should not operate heavy equipment while using this stone. I also love Purple Sapphire. My all-time favorite is the Amethyst flower for its ability to help children stay open in the hectic world they are experiencing. It is gentle and soothing. I hope you try some of these stones and apply them in your life.
