Perfect Moment Monday: Strawberry Smacks
By Karen Kleinwort ~ 7/19/2010
Each week I hold the intention to participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by Weebles Wobblog. According to Weebles, "Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one." Here is my Perfect Moment for this week.
Strawberries are my son’s favorite fruit. This past fall when I was planting veggies, I also decided to give strawberries a place to reside. I choose a broken planter that had sat empty all winter, as it had built-in drainage due to the cracks and was large enough to allow the plant to grow easily without being root bound.
With all the rain, this past spring I was concerned if we’d reap any vegetables and wondered if the strawberries could outlast the weather. I know they are hardy, but we really did have a lot of rain.
To my son’s amazement—and yes, even to my own—our strawberry plant is doing great: so great that he was able to enjoy the first Strawberry Saturday. He even picked it himself!
Until next time, embrace your inner wisdom.
Namaste,
Karen

Wow, how incredibly cool that
Wow, how incredibly cool that the strawberries made it.

Beautiful analogy
Growing a strawberry takes faith, expectation, and patience. Kind of like growing a Self!
And if you're lucky, the experience is delicious.
(I didn't know about your entry last week, but I added your link this week. Make sure to add your entry to the bottom of the Perfect Moment Monday post http://weebleswobblog.com/2010/07/perfect-moment-monday-greeter.html so that others can find you here. Holler if you need help doing so.)
Sounds Perfect (and tasty) To Me!
There's nothing like home-grown...anything, especially strawberries.
Thanks for sharing your Perfect Moment!
