Perfect Moment Monday: Baby of Mine

My Perfect Moment for this week …

Karen shares an ultrasound photo of her daughter, due in 18 weeks. Was spending 45 minutes with an ultrasound technician and my husband while she measured, zoomed in, zoomed out, and moved the wand around my abdomen, trying to keep up with the very active 21-week-old baby growing beautifully in my uterus. Needless to say, there were many perfect moments. But to name just a few: 1) watching and hearing the heart beat steadily at 130 beats per minute; 2) watching the baby flip, roll, kick and wave; and 3) finding out we will be welcoming a sister for our 2 ½-year-old son in May 2011!

For the last 10 weeks we’ve been asking Caden if he would like a baby brother or baby sister. No matter the order we ask, his response has always been “baby sister”—and he was right. The technician this morning told us in her seven years of conducting these ultrasounds that those who have a sibling under the age of 5 were more accurate in predicting the sex of their new sibling than any other belief such as salt-versus-sweet cravings, movement versus no movement, or morning sickness versus no morning sickness. We were not surprised to learn we are having girl based on our Crystal Baby Caden’s prediction. We are excited not only to be expanding our family but that all our prescreening and ultrasound reports have come back overwhelmingly positive. So far all is pointing to a full and healthy final 18 weeks.

Each week I participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by Write Mind, Open Heart. According to Lavendar Luz, who runs WMOH, "Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect Moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between." And so, here is a Perfect Moment for this week.

Congratulations to you!

How exciting for you all and for your oracle, Caden!

Thank you!

Thanks Lavender! We are super excited and will be keeping everyone updated as the last 18 weeks count down.

Happy New Year to you and your family. Thanks for being such a great supporter of ours as well as an inspiration to writing these blogs each Monday.

Namaste,
Karen
