The Passage of Time and Its Effect on Life
By Karen Kleinwort ~ 1/23/2009
Where Does It Go?
It's hard to believe it is Friday already. These last few months I cannot tell you where the time is going, but it certainly is not on my side. Just when I think I have gotten caught up I look at my to-do list and realize that it actually wasn’t complete, so I add another few items to it along with any new tasks which have been passed onto me.
We have scheduled our first event of the year: Introduction to CranioSacral on March 4 at 7 p.m. It will be fun, but I realize by scheduling it I also have given myself a cart load of new to-dos. The balancing act continues to get refined between self, work and my family. I am fortunate that I have a very supportive husband and a nine month old who thinks it is just great I work from home.
One aspect on which I am working is carving out more time for just me. Becoming a member of a health club has allowed me to do this more easily, and when I truly am there I am alone with my thoughts. I realize how much I have missed this aspect of my high-wire balancing act, and with this realization I have come to appreciate it that much more.
Personal Goal
My next personal goal this year is to carve out on a regular basis time for meditation and my own energy work. The challenge is to do this when the need arises as well as when my son is napping. The evenings are for time with my husband, so that won’t work. While my son is awake doesn’t work for obvious reasons. (Plus, I enjoy playing and spending quality time with him.) And when I do have my nanny here, it is because I have other business items to take care of such as clients, accounting functions, and marketing and public relations tasks that call out for my attention. So the challenge continues to be addressed, but I will persevere and be victorious.
What is your current balancing act challenge? Have you been able to identify it, or is "it" more than one area of your life needing to be addressed?
A good place to start might just be right there: identifying what areas of your life that need to be in better balance. We are here to support you, so let us know how we can.
Until next time, embrace your inner wisdom!
Namaste,
Karen
