Crystals and Your Chakras: Visuddha

The Throat, or fifth Chakra known as Visuddha, means “purification.” This Chakra is located at the center of the throat. The color associated with this Chakra is bright blue, the element is ether, and the sacred geometry is the inverted triangle (Or in other forms of thought as an oval or egg.). The instinct or function of the Visuddha is communication and creativity. This Chakra is where the intellect rises to produce words/expression of the same. Have you ever noticed when you are not saying what you mean that your truth your throat tightens and becomes scratchy? The Sanskrit Seed sound for this Chakra is “Ham,” while the animal symbolism is elephant/bull.

Throat/ Fifth Visuddha Chakra

Balanced= Self=expression, harmony with others, ability to be creative, self resonance, ability to speak and hear.

Imbalance= Sore throat, thyroid, parathyroid problems, stiff neck, colds, hearing problems, unable to communicate, block expression of creativity.

Meditation= “Mantra” to chant out loud or to yourself the seed sounds or any other form of Mantra that would bring balance to your fifth chakra; for instance, the mantra for Sarasvati the Goddess of knowledge:

Om Vaakdeviyai cha Vidhmahe
Virinji Pathniyai cha Dheemahe
Thanno Vani Prachodayath.
